Selection of pump impeller material
1.4563 (X1NiCrMoCu31-27-4) is a super austenitic stainless steel, with ultra-high corrosion resistance as its core advantage, and is the high-end material choice for pump impellers in chemical processes with harsh corrosive conditions. The 1.4563 pump impeller is specifically designed for strong corrosion, containing chloride ions / particles, and medium-high temperature chemical media. Typical application scenarios are as follows:
· Medium types
o Strong acids: wet-process phosphoric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, chlorine / fluorine acidic solutions
o Salts: high-concentration chlorides, bromides, seawater, salt water, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) slurry
o Mixed media: corrosive slurries containing solid particles (calcium sulfate, slag, catalysts), acid gas-liquid two-phase flow
· Operating parameters
o Temperature: -196℃ to 800℃ (avoid long-term residence at 500–900℃ to prevent precipitation and embrittlement)
o Pressure: medium high pressure (≤16MPa), suitable for centrifugal pumps, chemical process pumps, slurry pumps
o Flow rate: high flow rate (≥3m/s), strong anti-corrosion erosion resistance
· Typical application scenarios
Phosphate plants, sulfuric acid / acetic acid plants, seawater desalination, chlor-alkali chemical industry, PTA / polyester, flue gas desulfurization, coal chemical acid water transportation.
1.4563 (X1NiCrMoCu31-27-4) pump impeller is the ideal material choice for harsh chemical corrosion conditions. It outperforms 316L / duplex steel in scenarios such as phosphoric acid, chlorine-containing media, and seawater, and its service life can be up to 2-3 times that of ordinary stainless steel. Its production relies on precision casting / forging and strict solution treatment, and maintenance mainly involves patch welding and coating. Severe damage should be replaced.
